Well, we haven't left yet. I had to deliver newspapers yesterday, and couldn't get out of a presentation scheduled this evening. (I'm the presenter. . .)

We are leaving in the morning.

So, today is likely to be the longest day of the year for me. :o)

Having now tossed the whole fiction thing to the curb, I have decided to reasearch travel writing. We like to travel, camp, hike; we take the camera, do research and explore places anyway - why not see if I can sell a story or two from this? Maybe get back a little gas money.

So, I spent $50 at amazon.com on used books, and have begun researching the markets. I think I have found what I needed to bring some focus of life outside the newspaper into my life.

I realized today that I have been "off work" a week, and don't even really feel like it. What's up with that? Perhaps it's becuase I have still done something "newspaper related" every day I've been "off."

Man I can't wait to be surrounded by no man's land - but first I have to get through today.
