The last three entires have been puppy-oriented, and I'm beginning to sound like the dreaded "proud parent." I can't help it. She's just so darn cute.
The electric went off three or four times today, which basically means all the digital clocks are flashing. The heavy rains laid my bearded iris that were blooming down on the ground. I'll likely cut them now, and perhaps take them in a bouquet to Mother. And, since she's reads this (Hi Mom!) it won't be a surprise... (I do have another present, which WILL be a surprise.) Yep, we're off for the weekend, to my beloved river town, Marietta. It's a beautiful town. Riverside parks, historic downtown buildings filled with specialty shops, delis and a cafe or two. The difference between the life in Marietta and the slow death of Grantsville is so blatant to me sometimes. I miss park benches along the riverbanks, and frosted beer mugs. I miss dancing on Saturday nights and movies on the big screen. . . Of course, there are no goslings in the back yard there. This year, we have five. And the neighbors are literally - right next door. Noise. Ugh. WalMart.
Traffic. Heck - traffic lights. It's too late in the evening (or early in the morning, depending) to solve the world's problems, so I think I'll just go to bed.
