Dog Commentary: It's called a "Designer Breed" or "Mixed Breed", NOT A "MUTT"!

Okay, I hear the word "mutt" so often when referring to dogs like my Morkie-Poo, Amanda Chanel (otherwise known as "Mandy", which is what we call her). It's not cool. That term rhymes with "butt", and indicates that designer breed dogs are NOT as cool as the purebred dogs. Yes, there are people who are what I call "purebred snobs", they basically view purebred dogs as SUPERIOR over mixed breed dogs.

This is not true. A lot of purebreds have health problems as well as their dog relatives being bred together (called "inbreeding", in case you didn't know). Not to mention no dog is perfect. And besides, Mixed breed dogs can't help how they look, and act, personality-wise. Purebred or Designer Breed, all dogs want to be loved for who they are, need to be house-trained and groomed as well as given excellent health care, food and water. Also, dogs need exercise too. Basically, they're like little kids who need to be taught proper behavior, only they can't speak.

Calling a designer dog a "mongrel" isn't better either. That term, "mongrel", sounds like a savage beast that will attack your children. Not exactly something most owners of mixed breed dogs would want their beloved pets to be called.
And that sums up my "Dog Commentary" for today.
