Writings, Thoughts and Happenings

I was born in the late 1970s. I grew up in West Virginia, went to five different schools for undergraduate in three different states, finishing at the University of Pittsburgh. I had obtained degrees in English Literature and Film Studies, and had satisfied or nearly satisfied requirements for a multitude of minors. Then, upon realizing that I would need a day job in order to be able to chase my dreams in these two fields, I chose to go to law school. I am out of law school now. I live in Pennsylvania now. To know the rest you'll have to read on a bit.

Protest

Back to the real world, or so it is as I perceive it . . . .

Nonsense. Pure flipping nonsense. Three years and $45,000.00 in debt accumulated for a juris doctor. And now I have shelled out an additional $500.00 for the Pennsylvania bar exam. In addition to that, I am told that I cannot pass the bar exam without taking classes. Then why in the name of shish-kabobs did I just spend a borrowed $45,000.00?

Not to mention the nearly $200.00 for graduation expenses, and an additional $40.00ish dollars to have my non-existent driving and criminal records sent from three different states.

This is unfair. It is a damnable scam. I should be able to claim indigent status in order to take the bar.
If people can claim it in order to get a marriage license, then I wanna claim it for this. I now have an intense hatred for this money-grubbing profession. What is this, a way to insure that only those born rich are allowed to join your damned elitest group? Kiss my poor ass. I have taken your classes, purchased your books, and followed your advise. Now you are telling me that I have pay money to be tested and then pay more money to study for this test, and then, pay money to remain a member of your club?

NO. I will do it, but I will then lobby to have these ridiculous fines reduced or eliminated. Why do I need to keep paying if the bar associations are ripping off incoming lawyers. Or vice versa.

For those of you anti-Greek society individuals :
(By the way, screw you.)
I never paid for my friends, nor did I pay for my right to belong. I paid for my activities and toward philanthropies and scholarships. No, those activities did not include alcohol.

Fraternities and sororities are not a rip off. The bar exam and membership fees and the cost of the classes and study meterials are a rip off.
