Writings, Thoughts and Happenings

I was born in the late 1970s. I grew up in West Virginia, went to five different schools for undergraduate in three different states, finishing at the University of Pittsburgh. I had obtained degrees in English Literature and Film Studies, and had satisfied or nearly satisfied requirements for a multitude of minors. Then, upon realizing that I would need a day job in order to be able to chase my dreams in these two fields, I chose to go to law school. I am out of law school now. I live in Pennsylvania now. To know the rest you'll have to read on a bit.

Basketball, knitting and fantasia.

Kenn bought a basketball as his birthday gift so that he could exercise even when the tennis courts are soddened. So yesterday we shot some hoops. And now I have hit this reality: My name does is quite the misnomer. I have great difficulty with said game. And I am so sore. Basketballs are pretty heavy.

I have a deadline on a knitting project-- I am making a baby sweater for a woman I work with to give to her expectant cousin. And the baby shower is in three days. Unfortunately, I am working double shifts for the next three days. Helloooo, my old friend sleep deprivation, here I come!

I have decided to rewatch _The Neverending Story_ again, just to be reminded not to give up as Artax did. Try as he might, Atreiu could not convince his friend to have hope. This is because it must come from within, while the bog of despair can creap in from without. Great thought. It is a decision to be hopeful and happy, no matter what goes on around you. However, once depair creeps in, you sink into the mire.

Also, I just really like the memories that film conjures up, as well as its story. You have to fight the despair in order to beat The Nothing. Oh, how I wish I had a luckdragon.

It's like Milton wrote, "A mind can make a Heaven of Hell or a Hell of Heaven."

Imagine you hear the gy from Kajagoogoo (sp?) singing the theme to _The Neverending Story_ as you finish reading this post. Good night, and remain hopeful.
