Should I be insulted?

Today LB and I went to a party after work. I once again got asked if he was my first child. The person who asked made the comment that most first time parents hover over their kids and stuff. I didn't do that, and I also let LB eat a piece of cereal after it fell onto the floor. I tend to think of it as a compliment, because I don't think of myself as an overprotective parent. I don't know if others see me that way or not. I was mostly amused by this, but sometime I wonder if people think I'm a bad parent because of my lack of concern about certain things. I'm not overly concerned about what other people think, but sometimes I just wonder.

LB was very verbal at the party too, making the usual sounds, but also just doing more babbling. He's never been a big babbler, but he was certainly loud today. I'm pretty sure he says yes now, but still haven't heard "no" from him. The longer he takes to learn that one, the better off we all are. He has plenty of ways to say no other than to say it anyway.

Well, that's all for now.
