Monday was my first day back at school from winter break.

By the end of the day I was feeling icky. My body ached and I felt like I was getting sick. I felt like eating would be a bad idea, so I didn't.

I went and picked up LB and then headed home. When I got home, I handed off LB to Phil and headed upstairs to take my temperature and headed into bed. My temperature was 99.8 which of me, whose temperature is usually well BELOW normal was high. I felt more achy and also touch sensitive. I crawled into bed and vegged. LB came up to visit, Phil came up to visit. The went to have dinner and I declined, still feeling like eating was unwise.

LB finished eating vefore Phil so he came up stairs and told me that he had gotten out the red gingerbread. "The what?" I though.
"The red gingerbread for you."
"I have no idea what you're talking about, little one."
"I got you the red gingerbread so that you can play candyland with daddy and me."
"Oh, I get it. I'm still not feeling well, and I don't want to go downstairs now, but if you want to bring it upstairs we can play here on the bed.
He declined and wandered downstairs. A bit later, he comes upstairs with Phil and the Candyland box.
Phil says that LB asked to bring the box upstairs to play it with mommy. Phil then asked LB if that was his idea or if mommy had suggested it. So up they came to play Candyland. I was way ahead due to getting one of the pink cards, then I was way behind due to getting another of the pink cards. such is life.

Phil got LB ready for bed, they watched train videos, read books, brused teeth, etc...

Then LB wanted snuggles so I managed to get myself out of bed for them. Gave him some snuggles and went back to bed. Phil had also, at my request, brought me a cup of soup. I was starting to feel a bit better and just a bit hungry and had managed to keep water in with no problems at all. Throughout the evening I took my temperature a few times and it did go up over 100.

Around 10 pm, I got very hungry and was really feeling MUCH better, so we headed downstairs and I had some more food and drink, and everything seemed just fine.

I don't know what this illness was, but as illnesses go, I'll take it. 8 hour flu, lucky me. Tuesday I was back on my feet at school as if nothing had happened, but was just a bit further behind on my work than I started out-having gotten none done Monday night. I did get to watch Florida had Ohio State its ass though, I wish it had been a better (more entertaining) game.
