Saturday was my birthday. It was one of the nicer spent ones that I've had recently.

We went to brunch with my parents and Uncle Andy and Aunt Jackie. We ate at the Castaway in Burbank. They had quite the spread, it was tasty, and even with the smog/haze, you can't beat the view. They are one of the few places that has a brunch buffet both Saturday and Sunday.

Then Saturday evening, we went out with Phil's family to celebrate his parents' 40th wedding anniversary (which was on Sunday). The dinner was nice, although after the brunch buffet, I had a salad as my entrée. I also shared some duck sausage with LB and some of his pasta.

After dinner we sent Phil home with LB and the rest of us went and saw Wicked. I really enjoyed it. It was not perfect and I had my complaints, but overall, it was a very enjoyable show.

All in all, a very nice way to spend my birthday.

And everyone has embraced my new hobby. I received 3 cake decorating books, 2 cake carriers (one round one rectangular), 1 cake stand and 1 octopus cake pan. There was other stuff, but the rest was not cake related. :)
