Hitting the writer burn-out phase of the October Novel Dare with only a few days left. I'm terribly thankful for the folk at Night Shade books for putting this on as I know this kind of pain is good for me, like that 20th mile of the marathon... pant, pant... must... keep... typing.

I'm up to around 20k and should be galavanting about, trumpeting the fact that I actually got off my a** and started committing my ideas to paper. No laurel leaves yet. My biggest block is not producing but submitting. We'll see.

Meanwhile, I haven't been publicizing the biz, so the student-count is relatively low. Fortunately, I've been so engrossed in the writing process that I haven't spent a lot on groceries, but then I almost make up for it in soy chai lattes (can't be taking up the tables at Beans Around the World without the drink-prop).

Fall came quickly to Vancouver this year. We went from drought to floods in all of 12 days. The trees, thrown into mass confusion, chucked off their all leaves at once. I'm still holding out for a couple of autumn hikes before the snows overtake the local mountain range, though.
