Well, the first two days of March swelled with the warm promise of an early spring and belied the lion-like reputation of our entry into the third month.

March got the last roar.

Not even the usual sporadic fits and starts of precipitation, it's been dumping rain the entire weekend. Marcel and I waded out into the streets for a change of venue with the trusty ibook tucked away in its wet-suit.

In and around student proof-reads, I manged to finished another short that I started on Thursday. A 3000-word experiment that may end up the basis for longer pieces (the race is just too fun to leave encapsulated in a one-shot treatment).

In a perfect negative-example of know-your-audience, got a rejection from Analog. I could have checked off half the we-don't-publish-this thematics on the form letter. (Big, duh--my only feeble explanation is that it was the week I sent out 6 pieces so details like preferred themes got lost in the shuffle.) I was actually hoping for a rejection from them because I had since found an anthology that would make a perfect home for said manuscript.

As the full moon bends its way back toward new, it's time to pull out the edit-chainsaw and go to town...
