So the universe realized it hadn't smacked me around much recently so it hopped to it last night.

Down on Temple in the LBC my little red Escort got punched in the little window in the back, driver side. The triangular window that doesn't roll down. From there the latch could be reached to open the door. They took my messenger bag that has the Yahoo! logo on it so I guess it's good that Thrennis asked for his X-Men back or they'd be long gone. It also had two printed out chapters of Requiem so I hope to god that the mooks who targeted my car are illiterate nobs and just toss the clipboard away.

The bag had other odds and ends that I've found useful but nothing is leaping to mind right now. They found in the footwell, under my wool peacoat a car CD stereo that I was intending to have installed this week. I've already put $100 to special order the harness. So if I can't get a new radio PDQ I'll call up Al 'N Ed's and have them cancel the order.

For whatever reason that theives had (I imagine they were pressed for time) they left a padded lunch box with my company's name on it sitting on the backseat. Just touching it or picking it up would have told them there was stuff in it. I use it to tote about 50-60 CDs to work everyday. They also left the aforementioned peacoat in the footwell.

But I couldn't find my workbadge. Why would they have taken that?

Anyway. The police couldn't deal with it just yet and said they'd call me back. I'll call again in a few minutes. After I get a police report # I'll call the insurance to check if I have theft or window coverage. I doubt but I need to check that before window repair people.

How's your day going?
