Hack cough wheeze

I'm sick. I may even be really sick. I'm certainly starting to feel that way. I've had a stupid cough for nearly a month now, and I've resisted going to a doctor for it because I was stubborn and said that if it's just a cold-type cough there's nothing a doctor can do for it anyway because antibiotics don't do shit for colds. And, since I'm allergic to three gajillion varieties of antibiotics, I tend to be very wary of taking them. Besides, I kept trying to convince myself that the cough was getting better, and surely in another day or so it would be gone.

But I have finally grudgingly admitted that it is not going away. In fact it is steadily growing worse and I am now running a low grade fever and getting the "heavy" sensation in my chest which is never a good thing. Yesterday I tried to get an appointment with a doctor, but my problem is that I don't have a "regular" doctor. I just don't get sick very often, so the only doctor I have ever seen regularly has been my OB/GYN. Oh, and occasionally a dermatologist. So when I tried to make an appointment with a regular garden variety doctor, I was unable to get an appointment until Thursday since I was a new patient. Fine. Whatever.

Unfortunately, today I am thinking that I should not wait until Thursday to see a doctor, especially if it really is pneumonia as I am beginning to suspect it is. So as soon as I get out of work I am going to pick up Precious Babykins and drive down to Slidell to an emergency clinic that just recently opened up there. I am NOT going to a RediMed again. Not after my last experience there of four hours in Hell.

I'd better start writing my very-long-list of Drugs I Am Allergic To. Fun.
