Baby-free

My house is nice and quiet. The dear husband took Precious Babykins off for a few hours, allowing me the chance to write, read, lie on the couch, or do anything else my little heart desires without having to worry about what the kid is up to.

This is a new and wonderful routine that we have begun, which is designed to Keep Mommy From Going Nuts and Resenting Daddy. Basically, on the weekends he loads the kid into the car with a diaper bag and a little lunch and goes off for 2-3 hours. Yesterday he took her for a walk on the lakefront and then over to a friend's house. I managed to finish up a draft of a new story. He is also taking the kid for more time in the evenings during the week as well to give me more free time. It's wonderful. He enjoys it because it gives him more time with her, and I like having the baby-free time. Don't get me wrong--I'm still madly in love with her, but sometimes I just want her a few dozen miles away.
