Daycare dilemma solved

I scored a babysitter for the day--one of the ladies who works at the daycare--so Anna did not have to come to work with me today (since the daycare is closed.) I went home at lunch to eat and to give her a couple of boobs, and she is obviously enjoying herself. She was all giggly and perky, obviously loving all the extra attention. I'm relieved to have finally found a babysitter (besides my sister and best friend) whom I can use for times like these or for evenings out. Amend that to "babysitter I can trust"! Way cool.

In writing news, I finished a 7000 word story. It still doesn't feel "done" though, so I think I will let it sit for a bit and then go back and look at it later and see what it needs. I'm trying to not rush stories out the door to eagerly awaiting rejection slips.

In sorta-writing news I spent this morning dinking with the spreadsheet I use to track submissions, and added a few formulas to calculate how many days a submission has been out as well as recording the final response time. Woo.

I am also fairly certain that I'm going to make it to Worldcon this year, which will be neat since it's up in Seattle and I'll get to hopefully see my brother and his mom. :) Jack says that he'll have no problem taking care of Precious Babykins for a week. Of course she'll be almost 17 months then, so maybe, just maybe they'll both survive the experience.
