The little faker

I put PB down to bed last night at her usual 8ish, but she was pretty whiny and fussy in that mostly-asleep way that my sister calls the "nyeah nyeah"s. Not really her usual behavior, so I went and checked on her before I went to bed and discovered that the silly girl was burning up. I took her temp and gave her some motrin, and then stuck her in bed between Jack and me. We don't usually co-sleep, but when she's running a fever I'm just more comfortable with her where I can check to see if her fever comes back after motrin. She was pretty perky this morning but still had a bit of fever, so I sighed and called the ped and managed to get squeezed in. (Thank god they have Saturday hours for emergencies!) I was figuring that her ear infection had gotten worse or something, but the pediatrician said that her ears actually looked almost completely normal (whew!). So they did a white-count and that came back normal too, and so we decided that she just had some dorky little virus that gave her a little fever. It's so hard to tell when she's sick, because she generally doesn't act sick. Heck, with the RSV I had no idea she was sick until she started spiking a fever.

So, I think she just wanted to sleep with Mommy and Daddy and probably crawled out of her crib and stuck a hot washcloth on her head to make me think she had a fever. I'm on to her little tricks!
