Begin Again

Now that I'm officially on seasonal layoff, I can get hard at work on Pocket Adonis, my novel that should have been done a long time ago. I have unitl Feb. 20 to finish it and send it, but actually Feb. 16-18 is RadCon, so I'll aim to have it done before then. I should be able to make it. I'm at the end of the novel, I have some clean up work to do all over the puppy, and all I need is the hard work.

I've put down words every day so far this year. :-)

I don't even know how many words this novel will be when I'm done. It'll be a surprise!

I've gleaned some great articles, tidbits, and whatnot about writing, ambition, and the business of writing from the Internet lately. Miss Snark, Ben Stein, Vicki Hinze. As well as Dean Wesley Smith.

I think my brain is hungry for some knowledge. I think I feel a little stirring of ambition. It's been an odd fall and winter. The early darkness seemed to affect me more this year than ever before, which means I get into a hermit mood and I like to sleep. And with working through November and December (when I'm usually on layoff) I let myself fall into waiting mode when it came to writing. Ack! Bad idea.

I'm starting to turn it around, though, like a big tanker ship.
