Has anyone else noticed that their local law enforcement agencies arre writing more and more tickets these days? I really don't have a problem with it- because, if people are breaking the law (picture Beavis and Butthead saying that); then they deserve a ticket, right? Well, unless they are just writing them as a source of income. I see more and more "speed traps" set up on the side of the highways...it looks like they are being told to "go out and generate some revenue". Here is the problem. More and more people are out of work- we are in a recession- everyone has less money- so you are tking from the already poor. I understand if someone is driving dangerously- or REALLY deserves a ticket. Look at it this way...if you would not have written the ticket last year, or the year before...don't write it now. Besides- how many "officers" break the laws that they are writing tickets for, each and every day? Watch you local police- and see if they EVER use turn signals. Do they? Are they using their cell phones while driving? Don't they have a computer screen distracting them, right there in the front? Personally, I think police officers should "lead by example"; they should obey all of the traffic laws- except when responding to a "call". They can't- and they won't. Whowever, it really irritates me to watch them make multiple lane changes with no signals and race to the next "donut shop"...o.k. I was kidding.
