I'm in Rancho Mirage, near Palm Springs. Yesterday was 125 degrees. No use trying to write, but am reading Michener's novel Chesapeake, a 400-year history of the eastern seaboard inland waterway. To make myself feel more cool, I should probably be reading his "Alaska".
