A Stage Whisperer

For me, some rules are so obvious as to almost overlook them, (speaking as an adult). When they are identified, they are gems because they are so basic to my being. One of these rules boils down to The Golden Rule.

The Golden Rule states simply, but powerfully, "Do unto others what you would have them do unto you." If I were underprivileged, disfigured, or different, how would I have others treat me? I then attempt to treat all others as I would like to be treated if I "walked a mile in their shoes".

Many religions have similar tenets, one being that we are somehow derived of a "Divine Nature" and that when we "die", we return to some kind of "Oneness" with this "Divine Essense".

I submit that we are similar to Actors upon a Stage, but the Play consists of a very large, but finite, number of Actors, improvising as they go along, rehersing upon a very large, but finite, Stage. Perhaps then, it MIGHT be true that the Play is not over until every individual Actor is required to Play every single part!

In this imaginary Play, few if any of the Actors actually remember they are in a Play. Most have slipped into this Character Study so deeply that they "become" the part, yet still improvising within broad guidelines.

Few if any of the Actors might realize they had Played their counterpart's Role last time the Play ran or that they will Play a different Role again the next. About the same number remembered that in the end, they were all merely thoughts of this Creator, and were not "real" in any case!

Oh, such human misery and suffering is Played out. Heros are welcomed and Villains reviled. Then, next time, they trade places and forget the previous Rehearsal!

So then what would it all mean? Nothing? What does this whole crazy Experiment MEAN? I don't even have a clue, sorry. But if the Actors wake up enough in their Role-Playing to realize they have to all get through the entire Play all those multiple times before they can rest and relax at the Cast Party afterwards; if they would only assist each other in getting through the lines and the scene changes and the thick plot, it might be a more interesting Play!

Call it Lucid Acting. First, remember to treat your fellow Actor with respect and understanding, for you must Play their part tomorrow! Second, remember that very few of those other Actors around you realize they are in a Play. (And we have no idea of some of the plot lines or scene changes coming!)

A Stage Whisper, at the just the right time, might boost the outcome of this particular performance to Academy Award status! A supportive wink and an improvised hug just might make the difference of this being the Greatest Performance ever!

I think of The Golden Rule in this way. If we are, in some Metaphysical Way, all ONE, then when I treat you as I want to be treated is obvious! I am simply treating myself as I wish to be treated. I will improvise my part to include the Knowledge that I am ONE with every Other. The plot thickens as more and more Actors begin to experience Lucid Acting.

Such a Play might take a Very Long Time, but let's suppose the Creator of this Play was ageless, and that this Creator liked to tinker and then sit back and watch the outcome, similar to running experiments in chemistry.

    The Beatles had it right:

        "I Am He,
        As You Are Me,
        And We Are All Together!"
