Time Flies
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

Mood:
Contemplative

So it's late Wednesday night... Wednesday, already. Sheesh. Time slows for no one.

My weeks just seem to fly by these days. Not totally a bad thing, but I feel like I've had these things to do that have been on the back burner for months because my week flys by and my weekends get swamped before I can shove them in there. Of course, as far as work is concerned, it's almost like come Friday I still haven't finished all tasks set before me on that Monday.

sigh.

Well, it occured to me today while working on a belated wedding gift that still isn't turning out quite as I want it to, that it's been several days now and I had yet to put a journal entry about the most awesome wedding that I have ever attended. It was utterly amazing. Congrats to Kenny and Jenn!

I've known Kenny since I was 16 (17 maybe, that's almost 8 years). Knowing Kenny has been quite an adventure. I've only known Jenn for almost two years now, but I must say that she's one remarable gal!

On to the wedding... It was smaller than the weddings I have previously attended, about 70 people or so. It was a chinese themed wedding, non religious (which was very refreshing), and just a warm, fun, happy ceremony full of love, joy, and tears. The wedding vows were heartfelt. Not the normal recitation of vows written years and years ago (to have and to hold, blah blah blah), but vows with a powerful love behind them that radiated out to all. It was wonderful. The ceremony was led by Nancy, a close friend and roomate of Kenny and Jenn. That wedding kiss will go down in history! There was then much hugging, and then singing, and then dancing. Kenny pulled me out there for some swing dancing that we learned several years ago, I was thrilled. Kenny and Jenn made sure no guest went too long without their laughter, smiles, and love. I've heard the term blushing bride before, but never have I seen a bride glow as much as Jenn did.

I met Jenn's family for the first time, and saw Kenny's family again after quite some time. Of course, Tierza and Tammy recognized me this time. :) Stu and Gigi were happy to see me and they both looked like thay have been doing well. Kenny's neice and nephews have grown up quite a bit. I knew she was going to be a knockout when she got older!

I won a prize for being the first to sing Kareoke! I think I did fairly well. I got a few cool remarks, a high five from Kenny, and Leigh said she didn't know I sang alto (of course, I didn't realize that I had improved my range so well, I've always been stuck with first soprano in choir sections in school). There were prized for random things, like being the last to show up and being the only person at the table to have chicken (Hi Adam!).

I stayed for several hours, but was one of the first people to leave. My boyfriend arrived at about 9:30 or so, he was unable to attend the wedding because of a director's audition for a one woman performance piece (which he really thinks went well! yay!), and wanted to make a showing at a networking party and a birthday party that evening as well after the wedding. There were a few snags in between the wedding and the parties, but the rest of what was left of the evening went okay. We got to the birthday party at about 11:30 or so. Most of the people there didn't know me, but I think I made a pretty big splash, in my red and black satin boustier lingere. (Hey, it was a pajama party, and I did have a robe. :) )

So now it's Wednesday, I still have crap to do tonight before going to bed but may just go to bed after this entry. I have my sister's play to attend on Saturday. I HAVE to find a proper driving school or get more driving lessons so that I can get my liscence this month (my permit expires next month, time is of teh essence!).

I really need to stop going through phases of reminicing, then worrying about everything all at once, then getting sidetracked, then worrying about everything all at once. It's not really doing me very much good.

Good night Los Angeles!
