Mood:
Anticipating Freedom

So my day has been really slow. I mean REALLY slow. It started out slow, and has just been dragging on. I left the apartment at 6:30, and didn't get to work until 9ish. I couldn't believe it took that long to get from one point in Los Angeles to another point in the SAME FREAKIN CITY! I know Los Angeles is fairly big, but I don't want to have the travel time that would get me over half way to Vegas for my morning commute. Freakin bus driver was running late, caught every red light he possibly could (I think he had a psychic connection with the signals and did this on purpose, or he's in league with the traffic signal gnomes and my EE professor at USC) and then jumped on the 10, and managed to get through the small legnth of the 10 in about an HOUR. The bus ride is generally not so bad, but I had a headache (prolly a slight hangover from kareoke, as I had a couple drinks, tequilla shots, and zero glasses of water) and I didn't have a book or anything to read.

So I'm finally at work, and everyone wants a piece of me. Everyone has an issue that needs to be addressed, and my phone is ringing off the hook of customers who feel like they are being ignored. Billing issues seem to be the topic for the day, as our dedicated server customers are getting their first post migration bills and finding all sorts of things wrong. It's all so tedious, and I lose track of the customers that I promise to call back, and then they get pissy at me. I was hoping that being so busy would mean that the day would just fly by but such is not the case, and I've been here forever. I finally decided to take a break (as I worked through my so-called lunch) for journal writing, outside email reading, etc.

So I finally opened an LJ account. No, I have not decided to default to LJ, but have several friends that have locked their LJ accounts to anonymous readers or people who are not on their lists (mostly due to bad LJ comment and gossip experiences). I want to keep up with them too, so I had to do the deed. I'll prolly make an entry every now and then, likely just a silly test or something, but by far prefer Journalscape for serious entries. By the way, it's a pain in the ass to set up an LJ account.

And my LJ username for those who are interested is evilbutcute.

So right now our network is dragging, just another thing to make my day seem long. Grr.

Okay, enough bitchin, back to work.

One cool thing that I did today was go back through some of my email newsletters that I get and actually keep, in particular the one I get from SARK. It's really quite an inspiring newsletter, and I love her books. That definitely cheered me up somewhat, she really has a way of sparking creativity when I need it.

Okay, really, gettin back to work now.
