Week 2, on eating and getting off my ass

So, I'm on week two from starting my new diet and exercize efforts. I started the gym membership, have gone a few times now, and have started keeping track of what I eat. I've done two personal trainer sessions and have learned a LOT from him. They took measurements and body fat readings, and showed me how to keep an eye on what I eat and eat right without ever being on a "diet" which is cool. He's also shown me how to use the equiptment and what types of things I need to concentrate on. I got a 200 dollar starting discount through my company, and 20 a month, and discounted personal trainer sessions, which is probably the coolest thing that's come out of having this job in the recent shakey past.

I have realized though that this is going to take a lot of effort to keep up. I've worked myself into a bad place over the past couple of years. I started working for my company over 2 years ago (3 in June, holy sh**!) and 40 pounds ago. I've been sitting at a desk this whole time. Being a big film person, one of my favorite hobbies also involves sitting. Also, non work computer stuff, games, etc, aren't what you would call active. (Although Karaeoke keeps me on my toes!) I just need to make a concerted effort to be more active.

And I'm going to have to dust off that bellydancing video and take another shot at it.

In other news, saw Shanghi Knights Saturday night, after having dinner with the other bridesmaids in Janel's wedding to make Florida plans. (Bachelorette party in New Orleans, woo hoo!) It was really funny, I think I liked it better than the first one. The director was trying new things with the soundtrack (the keystone cops scene was great) and it gave much homage to Abbot and Costello type comedy, which really worked. Jackie Chan is still doing new things with different props and sets, and yes there are outtakes so stay and watch the end credits.

Went to Disneyland and DCA yesterday, it was pretty damn crowded. We didn't stay very long, I mainly wanted to go and get an annual 2 park pass. I got one for Erik for Valentines day. (but wound up giving it to him early because he was invited to go with a friend and it's 47 bucks for a one day ticket) That's about the best thing I could think of really for Valentines day. I've noticed there's never really much in the way of "guy gifts" for Valentines. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. A lot of the stuff is too girly even for me. (Although while we were at DCA, Erik got me an Eeyore dressed in a heart-shaped costume when I wasn't paying attention!) DCA is more of a walk-around place, and I'm sure that I'll get my money's worth with the passes.

After Disney, went to Danny's place to drop off some winter attire for Misty (my twinny twin twin), who will be at an acting competition for a week in 10 degree and snowy weather. I loaned her a winter coat, hat, gloves, earmuffs, my camera, and CD walkman. It all better come back with her. Stuck around to say hello to Danny and see how he was doing. he's almost done with his bathroom project, he's covered the bathroom walls with carved marble, and shelves that look like they're carved into the wall. it looks very cool. He's doing well, and the kids are hyper as always. His business is doing much better, and he offered to grab my resume and see what he can do if I need it (which in all reality will probably be needed in a couple of months).

Hmm, what else? Ordered some books online, they got two of the four books correct that showed up, the other two are wrong, and two haven't shown up yet. Grr. They didn't even package them so that I could easily send them back. Oh well.

I wonder how many telco companies have stock at 38 cents today. I can name at least one.

Watched "The First Nudie Musical" last night. Not kidding. It was the 26th anniversary DVD. It's starring Cindy Williams of "Lavern and Shirley" fame. It was um... interesting. It was like watching a train wreck. It was really funny. I think Tre Parker and Matt Stone stole stuff from it for "Orgasmo" (which is also funny). No, it's not porn (but it's about the porn industry) and it's rated R. Let me know if you wanna borrow it!
