Enjoy the ride.

Currently, I live in a small 'crossroad' town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I'm raising a wonderful son, cultivating a promissing career in Real Estate and enjoying every day! I'm involved in many community activities, charitable organizations and do LOTS of Yoga! Life is a great ride. Things change, I adapt and follow the 'road' with love and humility. • Auction

Saturday night, I had the pleasure of attending a benefit dinner, sponsored by our Board of Realtors. By means of an auction, we raised scholarship money for the local high school students. It was quite an event. Guest speakers included Congressman George Radanovich, the Mayor of Fresno, Alan Autry and an Assemblyman, whose name, I'm embarrassed to say, I can't remember. Our office got to sit at a front table, rubbing shoulders with the guest speakers.

I'd never been to an auction, except for Ebay. I remember how exciting it was bidding on Ebay for the first time, but this was even more exciting with other people in the room. The thrill of bidding was infectious. It was for a good cause, so people were into it. It was a playful atmosphere with people clapping and cheering; oohs and aahs when an item was bid up higher and higher.

I was swept up in the moment and bid on a painting that I liked - a contemporary new twist on still fruit. Before I knew it, I won the bid! It didn't take long because most people there are more of the traditional painting type. I really liked the painting and got it for a steal and made a contribution to a great cause. It was a win win situation. Except for the fact that I'm broke, have no place to put it, and won't in the foreseeable future! Oh well, it was fun. What fun is living if you don't participate!

If any one wants to see it, let me know, and I'll email you a picture. It's kind of bold and crazy. But that's how I like my art! :-) I may try selling it on Ebay so it doesn't take up room in my storage. Did I mention that it's big? It is like 3'x5'.... I know, I know. What can I tell you? I was in the moment! hee hee
