Plain Banter
. . . lies about science fiction, and everything else.

When the writer becomes the center of his attention, he becomes a nudnik. And a nudnik who believes he's profound is even worse than just a plain nudnik. -- Isaac Bashevis Singer

The No-Nighter

Last Friday, I pulled an all-nighter to get the first draft of a new story done. This Friday, squat. My parents are stopping by on their semi-annual snowbird migration, and my NC location is a good overnight stopping point between FL and NY. I don't get to see them nearly enough, so I don't mind giving up the writing for tonight. They'll be back on the road early Saturday morning, and then I have a tennis doubles game set up for 9:30, so staying up until 3AM would not be a good idea.

Sometimes events conspire against my writing schedule. Life's like that.
