Domestic angst pulled me right out of the writing mood this morning, and I've been struggling to get back into it all day.

And while I was in Costco feeling incredibly slimmer due to the hugeness factor of the people around me, I realized two things. Changing the way you eat is difficult. Changing the way you eat while you're on deadline is a recipe for disaster.

So now I sit here in my dark and cool office, taking lovely bites of the last bit of Raspberry Italian Sorbetto (no fat but tons of carbs), and I relax knowing that I will probably have a couple glasses of wine tonight. Wishing I had gone ahead and bought the rosemary bread because that would really go well with salmon.

But the best part of all is giving myself permission to not "diet" right now. I know I need to, and I will - as soon as I get this bloody novel done.

Okay. Done ranting. Will now go back and immerse myself in the words on the page, and try to figure out what the hell happens in chapter five.
