Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Like pulling teeth.

Pages Written... 10
Listening to... Dawson's Creek Soundtrack
Exercise 20 Minutes Yoga

At around five I finally sat down and wrote. At first it was definitely like pulling teeth - fitful starts and stops, until I tossed the first two pages and started again with dialog, and from the other character's POV. Somehow that got things kicking and now, what two and a half hours later, I've got ten pages to show for the day.

Not bad, but that puts a ton of pressure on tomorrow - I need 21 pages tomorrow to make my 50 for the week, as the weekend is pretty much fucked.

Saturday is the Revlon Run/Walk for Women, which I'm doing with Jenn and Kenny. My whole family is dragging down to USC with me, and after the run and breakfast we're going to get into line to see/hear the symphony play the soundtrack to The Red Violin at Disney Hall. Yeah, something not to be missed! But it makes for a hell of a long day. And if we can't get standby tickets, we'll tool around China Town and Japan Town and have lunch and go to the museums and generally have a great time before coming back home. And then on Sunday we drive to San Diego to be with my Mom on Mother's Day, and to check up on my Dad.

Like I said, the weekend is fucked, writing-wise anyway. So if I work hard and don't get too distracted tomorrow, maybe I CAN pull off 21 pages. The most I've ever done in a day has been 18 - and that's been at a bookstore when I didn't have a car to leave, didn't have wifi, and didn't bring a book with me.

Well, another new experience! Time now to indulge in a glass of wine and see what the hubby is making for dinner. (Hmmm - there IS an upside to this writing thing!)

Ciao.
