Alone tonight!

Tonight is the first night in a year and a half that I'll be spending alone at home. Andy is perfectly aware that I have no problem with that! Alone time is good once in a while, and since he works at home I don't get very much of it. He's in Costa Mesa staying with his dad after spending a day at the San Diego Zoo...while I worked my ass off...:-)

We may have found an apartment in Northridge; however, the current tenant doesn't move out until June sometime, so we will keep looking until then. Andy had a good conversation with the building manager. He asked all sorts of crazy questions, by Andy's account, but I'm glad he's interested in what sort of people we are.

Otherwise, I had a good day - long, but good. This week has kicked my ass work-wise, but it's almost over. If I can get through tomorrow without falling asleep...then it'll be laundry day again! Yay! We love laundry! (Not.)

Oh, one other piece of FANTASTIC news - my boss hired me some help today! Actually, a lot of help. Jett will be joining me on staff at Lake to mix two weekends per month, or something like that. Boy oh boy am I thrilled! Initially, I thought, OK this is dumb - here she canned my former boss and promoted me, now I'm setting myself up for the same thing. Later, though, I realized that I just don't care. Fine, if later they go with him over me, good for him. I love the guy and we're going to have a great time for the duration of our partnership (OK quasi-partnership, I'm the boss). If it goes south, that's when I'm glad that I'm not attached to the place, just the friends - and those I can take with me no matter what.

In the end it's just another church gig, as much as I love everyone I'm working with. I have worked enough of those gigs to understand that they come with a pre-determined time limit built in; it's just a matter of how long you get to stay, or want to stay.

Now I'm off to X-File for the very last time! A tribute to my friend and colleague Jett:

Sher.
