So, I have decided on the new purpose for this journal and changed the title accordingly. There's still a lot of old writing stuff I need to move over to LJ, but it'll happen eventually. In the meantime, I've changed the colors, pulled the writing links, and changed the about me section to reflect the new goals. I'll also be syndicating it at LJ and putting it on my sidebar there to remind me that this is something I need to do.

This is not about losing weight, even if losing weight ends up being part of the results. This is about being able to climb the 4 or 5 little stairs in my house is. It's about getting my blood pressure down without medication (we can't afford them). It's about feeling better even if I'm still heavy. It's about being the healthiest I can be.

It's about living so I can be around for my kids as they grow and as their kids grow.

I'm starting small. It's taken YEARS to be this way, it won't change overnight. Baby steps. Even 10 minutes of some kind of exercise. Reducing my salt and sugar for the day. It's one day at a time, each day it's own fresh slate so my failures don't stop me.

It's about time....

Today's Accomplishments
15 minutes of stretch exercise

I actually couldn't complete the whole thing--there were 2 exercises that required more balance than my big, old body has. And they may have been just stretches, but oh my! I think I now understand why it is so hard for me to do physical stuff. I'm more of a wreck than I thought--that shit HURT. :P

I only did the standing stretches today, but I will also do a few things while working in my chair--waist twists, up on the toes, arm raises, stuff like that.

For Tomorrow: Tai-Chi Essentials

Breakfast
a one egg burrito with a little cheese; made with no salt and less butter than usual
an orange
a glass of milk

It's not much, but it's a start.
