Week 1

3 days of exercise done; week 1 a success. And I've considered some small changes in the routine. Well, okay, one of them isn't routine related and that's what I've been wearing to work out. I've been using a set of old, raggy clothes. Since I don't have a lot of clothes, I use the same ones everyday. But my daughter recently purchased me some pj's that could actually double as workout clothes. I take a shower after I exercise and change, so it seems like exercising in the pj's I just slept in works.

I've also been thinking about the type of exercise. The Tai-Chi really wears me out--usually in 5-10 minutes. I can't even make a whole section of the routine. With the stretch stuff, there's work involved, but I can do a little more of it. Not all of it yet, but I made it through both standing stretch and sitting stretch today, about 20 minutes. So, I'm thinking about going with the stretch for now, and dropping the Tai-Chi until the exercise is a part of my life and is having an affect.

Accomplishments
About 20 minutes of stretching. I say about because there are a few of them I can't do yet, either because they require a sense of balance I don't have or have movements I can't do. Sorry, big, old, fat lady here cannot clasp her hands behind her back. Or stand on one foot. And my knees are traitors. :P

But I did manage most of the exercises. I'll stick with the 2 sections for now and try to bring in floor work in a week or two.

Food Yesterday
I wasn't feeling so hot, so ate a lot of comfort food. Yes, bad me, especially since I was in bed all day. Hopefully the self-spoiling worked to keep things at bay, but I suspect I just delayed it a bit.

Managing smaller portions (even with the comfort food) for breakfast and lunch. This isn't about food yet, but that's pretty good to me!

Now, about those snacks and dinner.... ;)

Breakfast
1 egg over easy
1 piece of toast with butter ad jelly
glass of milk

My son ate with me since he has a doctor's appointment this morning.

A little running around today--the boy needs to have his meds refilled so needs to see the doctor. I'd use the stairs at the office except they don't have stairs going to the second floor where his doctor is. *rolls eyes* After that I'll take him to school. I may end up needing to take him to his class, and that does involve some walking and a brief flight of stairs, but they might get his sister from her class to take him in.

After that, I might get an hour or two of job work done, I need to do some laundry, dishes, and maybe I'll find time for my own writing. We'll see. But it'll be busy. Even if I'm not exercising, I'll be active.

Goals next week stay the same: 3 or more days with exercise. 2 sections of stretches each. Maybe the week after that I can add either the 3rd section or an extra day. We'll see.

Feeling pretty good about what I've done so far! Just gotta keep it up! :)
