A Bit of Randomness

Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats. --Diane Arbus

My House the Crime Scene

Monday night I walk into my bedroom and notice what looks like a dark stain on our light comforter. I think, "no, it can't be" and turn on a light. Much to my chagrin, the stain is, in fact, fresh blood. And it's right where one of our cats had been sleeping.

Needless to say, I start to get a bit upset.

I wake up E- because with squirming, upset D- in my arms, there's only so close I'm going to be able to get to the Fuzzy Cat. E-, hearing his constant companion of many years is bleeding, is up in an instant.

He discovers that the Fuzzy Cat is bleeding from his nose but otherwise seems quite normal. Weird. We decide to wait until morning to call our normal vet.

As it turns out, the F.C. has a nasty sinus infection. Which explains the watery eye from the weekend and the sneezing fits he's been having (which, if you've never seen a long haired cat sneeze 10-15 times in a row is quite the sight). He needs eye drops and a daily pill (ooo, fun fun fun) and all will be right.

So why the crime scene? Because of the bloody nose. Everytime the F.C. sneezed, the blood splattered. The worst areas are the bathroom and kitchen (thankfully, the tub, kitchen floor and the side of the stove are pretty easy to clean). But it's kind of amusing now that he's not bleeding anymore.

One of the best parts was calling my father to ask him if the Stain and Odor Remover his company produces "gets out blood. Like, from *everything*???" and his response was, "oh sure! no problem". With calmness like that, I know who to call if I ever do go postal.
