Probably the only vaguely interesting thing about me is that with my wife, Mary Reed, I co-author the John the Eunuch mystery series set in sixth century Constantinople. But that doesn't stop me from dwelling here on the boring minutiae of the rest of my life, present and past, along with the occasional word about writing.

Divinations and Revisions

It has been a bit slow at the blog but today The Orphan Scrivener comes to my rescue.

In the February issue of our newsletter, Mary writes about odd methods of divination she's come across while researching (how about telling the future by the specks in one's fingernails?) and I write about the misery of revision and how I justify it to myself.
