Let's see. Yesterday Rose wanted to make cheese muffins, so we did. They ended up being a bit dry, and Rose didn't like them. I thought they were pretty good — closer to cornbread than muffins in consistency and flavor, maybe.

Yesterday I wanted to make banana fritters, so we did. They were yummy. The recipe came from the most recent Eating Well magazine; it's like a banana muffin recipe, but less baking powder, no sugar, a little cayenne, and less total liquid. Good with salsa.

Yesterday both Rose and I wanted to make what Rose calls "chicken on the cob": drumsticks. I broiled them, and on most of them I brushed a glaze made from equal parts (by volume) lime juice and brown sugar. Rose got the plain ones, and Debby and I got the lime ones.
