Introductions

I'm never really certain about introductions like these. I'm not really sure what to tell about myself or why I'm writing this. To start with, I miss having a blog. I used to have a blog way back before the word "blog" was part of our everyday vocubulary. We still called them "online journals" back then, and they often took a much more personal tone than they do now. We hand-wrote them in notepad because the only other options were to use one of the very first versions of Frontpage which was buggier than the marsh in summer. Not long after I started my "online journal" Geocities was introduced to the scene, and I moved over there. That didn't last terribly long and I ended up at Diaryland not terribly long after that. Somewhere in there Blogger and Liverjournal introduced themselves onto the blogging scene and I stubbornly ignored them out of a well-earned sense of nostalgia. But as online journals found there way out of the world, and "blogs" replaced them (or maybe the journals just "evolved"?) I found myself in college and with far less time to keep up my old-fashioned hand-coded online journal and gave up the practice. I have since lost most of those entries (don't ask, I'm still teary about it) and found myself reading these more modern (and to think I'm only in my early twenties) "blogs" and decided that I missed journalling online enough to journey into the unknown.

And believe me, blogging is very different than journalling. And while I may participate in the "blog" community, I hope never to utter that word again. :P
