Parenthetical

See what time I'm writing this?

I've been on this weird sleeping schedule again (my body can't help it, I can't help it... it's just bad) so I've been up since 2pm yesterday.  I went over to my mom's to eat dinner (Popeye's catfish--very yummy) and watch Rockstar.  I also checked my mail in WoW and transfered a character, very fun.  Did my nightly ritual of chatting with Steven, never a bad thing.  This time I was amused by his adorable half-asleep belligerence and we discussed how clean his apartment is now--apparently very clean, which would be the precise opposite of what my apartment currently looks like.

Most of my night (something like the previous 5 hours at this point) has been spent organizing my books.  The piles have morphed into various types.  I now have labels on my boxes on what genre of book is inside.  If you think this is ridiculously obsessive (okay, so it is, so what?) you should see how many books I have.  Then you might understand a bit more how I could find the need to organize in such a way.  The thing is, I need to decide what can go with me now, what can wait until the car trip, and what can wait until later.  I've picked out two overflowing boxes' worth of books to be sold/given away/etc.  I've also picked out three boxes that can go into storage if need be (but which I will miss tremendously as if someone has "borrowed" my left arm temporarily and won't give it back).  (And now I've just realized how graphic that last parenthetical is, and am realizing exactly how much Buffy-watching can be considered too much.  I think it was too much two seasons ago, and yet I can't stop.  Buffy makes me perky and happy for some reason that I cannot yet determine--it's a mystery in my life which maybe I should decipher sometime when I'm not watching Buffy.)

Oh but the books that have to go with me (I'll cry if they don't--a lot) total probably two suitcases' worth.  It's competing space for clothing that also needs to go with me.  And shoes.

Izzie was adorable though.  I found a box that didn't appear too large for textbooks, but that would also possibly fit all of the language books that I have (my largest stack next to religion/philosophy/physics)--it was a perfect fit, by the way--but Izzie kept trying to curl up inside the box and take a nap.  She was very upset at me for removing her and let me know by doing this interesting kitty growl at me.  By the third time she tried to curl up inside it she discovered the box was full and settled for her usual nest on my bed instead.  The sad thing is that I discovered that two of my German textbooks are missing.  I think my friend Kim has them, but she's in England now.  :P

It's official, I know, I'm yammering.  Maybe coffee and some more book packing.  I know I need to find my other roll of packing tape.  Somewhere around here...
