The kitten is playing with a little plastic pink and green ball that has a bell in it at the moment.  It feels very early to me, and while I usually enjoy mornings once I'm awake, it generally takes some convincing to get me up before 10 or 11 (and I'll sleep much later if I'm not disturbed).  This morning, the neighbor will need to leave at 9 AM, and unfortunately, we're blocking him in so he can't into his car to leave.  This wasn't intentional, it's just that the parking spaces are too small, and the person on the other side of us parked too close to ours so we had hardly any room to get the car in.  It doesn't help, of course, that person being blocked in by us drives a big SUV.  It's not his fault that the spaces are too small, though.

I feel both productive and unproductive simultaneously today.  I went on an interview Tuesday and haven't heard back.  Looking at my phone this morning I realized that I have a voicemail on, and listening to it, I discover that the temp agency wanted me to do a job yesterday last-minute.  I probably wouldn't have been able to take it anyhow due to not having any idea how to get around LA alone.  I'll call them back this morning and check in with them.

Yesterday, overall, went very well despite the missed voicemail.  I managed to get a good deal of cleaning done around the house, something that was very much needed.  We still have a big brown box and a suitcase taking up much needed floor space in the living room, but we'll be finding a location for those things soon enough.  The kitchen has been totally cleaned.  I haven't done floors yet, but all the dishes are done and the counter is clean.  Hopefully we will not see any more ants.  The kitty was a bit disturbed and turned off by the presence of ants in her food a week ago.  I have to say I was rather upset by the whole ordeal, but they went away with a little chemical persuasion and the cat's food is now safe.  I think although hundreds of ants were scary to her, she misses having a few of them around to chase and play with.  I keep telling her she'll find a spider soon enough.

We'll be taking care of Kenny and R's zoo while they're away this weekend.  It's funny the reaction that cat's have to an unfamiliar caretaker.  Grace (I usually call her Miss Grace, or Gracie, which may be why she hasn't warmed up to me) came out long enough last night to stalk to the snakes and the scorpion while we changed their water.  She tentatively watched as Steven blew some catnip bubbles for her, and Artemis hid upstairs.  I gave Gracie a peace offering of a few crunchy kitty treats and she seemed to take well to that concept, leaving me to stalk the snakes again when they were gone.

Izzie's reaction to me smelling like another cat was fun.  She seemed a bit perturbed about my fraternizing with other cats, but was generally willing to ignore it and pretend she didn't think it had happened.  A few extra-suspicious sniffs and we were back in purr-land.

Today: Video Game Live, laundry, and perhaps some gaming to get into the right mindset for the show tonight.
