==================================================

Location: Home.
Listening: "Rattlesnakes" by Tori Amos, cover of Lloyd Cole.

After my last entry, I found myself having to choose between exerting myself in a very physical, very negative way on my domestic surroundings or sleeping. I chose sleep.

Awake now and realizing that, irony of ironies, I have missed my opportunity to vote in state elections. I have no excuses for this and, if California takes the express handbasket to hell tonight, I apologize. I told Peter this morning that I should really just try to ignore the prevailing socio-political climate more and press on with my life. This is not what I meant.

I am ranted out for the moment. The past few entries have brought to light just about everything that's been roiling under my surfaces lately, and what needed to be said has been said in its entirety--for now, anyway. A friend of mine who was an SAE at UPenn had a charming mantra that he picked up at the frat parties: "Boot and rally!". The past few entries have felt a lot like forced regurgitation and I think I'm finally ready to rally.

Several women (some of whom I haven't heard from in months, some of whom I barely know) have already written to let me know that they agree with my last entry. I'm a little surprised, but very grateful that they wrote. It's good to wake up and realize that you're not just a deluded girl in her socks, jibbering at the walls. However, if you disagree with me, you're always welcome to let me know that, too. God knows, I could use a good argument against considering myself yesterday's news.

Oh, and if, at any point, you catch me bitching about the politics in California, feel free to tell me that I had a chance to do something about it and kick me squarely in the shins. I'll understand.

All you need is always all you need.
