Going to the chapel . . .

Mood:
::gleefully relieved::

Wow. We finally nailed the date down to Sunday, July 28, 2002. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions for me the last 3 days. I went to Duke's (the reception site) a few days ago to talk to the guy that does the reservations and we talked numbers. I brought my friend Roger with me, because I wanted someone else there with me to keep me in check. Surprisingly to ::STUPID:: me, the numbers he returned were about twice the number I had in mind. It's not that I didn't have prices in front of me...I just didn't do the math. "Math is Hard."

Anyway, I kept my composure and stated I needed to discuss this with my fiance and that I'd be in touch very soon. I left Duke's in a daze, which lasted all day, despite reassurances from my Mom, sister, fiance and Roger. I was pretty much the only person suffering from sticker shock. My sister said to go ahead an reserve the place, to stop fretting, and to "shut up."

So, today I reserved both sites, the photographer will be able to make it from Missouri, and all is well. I've got my bridesmaids lined up, a potential florist and cake maker. I'm way ahead of the game. I better pace myself.

On a different note, I'm starting a martial arts class next week. I'll be taking Shaolin Kempo Karate with Jenn, my roommate. She's testing for her yellow belt tomorrow, and she's very nervous, but I think she'll do great. I didn't think I'd be able to afford it with all this wedding business, but it's within my budget, and I *need* something to help relieve stress and get me fit as well. Desk jobs are BAD for my arse. :-P I'm nervous, but not too nervous, because Jenn will be there too, so it won't be as intimidating. Soon, I will be a Shaolin Kempo Karate MASTER!!!

Fear me...
