Disturbia

Well, the way things look lately I'm not going to make it back to a daily blogging schedule, but I do aim to update on a regular basis. And so here I am.

Have spent the week pretty much running to catch up. The sites were moved to a new server, which meant reloading and tweaking out a number of things and that has really eaten up this week and I'm not even half done. *sigh*

3Words is going great, there's a lot of participants and everyone seems to be having a good time. It's my treat -- my dessert after dueling with site wrestling, keywords, editing titles, and spinning articles. Lots of positive feedback from all the peeps, and I love it.

Past JS alumni Joseph Paul Haines is having a Very Good Month indeed! Not only is his anthology available for pre-order (see complete review here) but the flagship story, "Ten With a Flag" will appear in another anthology due out in January 2011. The cool thing about that is the roster on this anthology -- Shirley Jackson, Orson Scott Card, Cory Doctorow, Neil Gaiman, and Ursula LeGuin, to name but a few. I mean, how effing COOL is that?!

This shade of green I'm wearing? Yeah. Don't play. You're wearing it too. Someday, I'm going to make Joe wear the very same color :)

So, so amazing when a good guy receives the good karma due him. Go, Joe!! I'm not going to say "I told you so," but...

Fabulous Fiction Friday on WW tomorrow will feature an interview with MeiLin Miranda, author of "Lovers and Beloveds", the first book in her series, "A Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom". What impresses me about MeiLin is her drive and innovative marketing ideas as an indie publisher. She is an awesome inspiration, and I'd love for you to pop over and meet her.

Although it is most definitely October, as witnessed by the chilly mornings, I still have roses blooming in my front yard. Beautiful, red roses that I can see right outside the window of my writing space. The trees haven't totally turned yet, but there are bright bursts of color here and there. The temperatures are perfect for a New York gal, and although I've packed away the tank tops and shorts, I still have the capri's and t-shirts.

Tonight I'll be visiting the Divine Mizz M to make her some banana bread because she loves it and I love her. Hopefully I'll catch up with the rest of the tribe :) Besides the excursion to the Fat Bitches Pancake Club on Monday morning (which was totally enjoyable), I haven't been out of the house -- trying to catch up on stuff.

I think I'm doing a little better at the socializing thing. I know it's important. I'm just not sure I'm ever going to LOVE LOVE it, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, writers. We're weird. Don't pretend you didn't know. Heh.

A friend introduced me to these guys. I am totally hooked. Check them out when you get a chance:
