Mrs The Fyd flies to Hawaii today; a visit with her mother and grandmother which we shan't begrudge her. However, this means that when I get home Boris and Vinnie will have been left without human companionship and supervision for half a day. The horrors they could wreak -- they don't bear contemplating.

Now, Boris was previously used to being left alone during the day while we worked, and showed no problems. Dynamics have changed since then and the pups have been spoilt for human contact; will I arrive home to a canine Lord of the Flies? A kitchen in chewed shambles? One happy dog and one dead dog? Two happy dogs, suspiciously sated, and not a cat to be found? Hopefully what will greet me will be two happy dogs and four un-eaten or molested cats. That's all I ask. Plus no messes to clean up. If they've developed opposable thumbs and gotten part-time jobs, all the better.
