I'm immensely fond of my debut collection Little Gods, but with Hart & Boot I was simply more knowledgeable about how to construct a collection, and I think it actually works as a book, rather than a hodgepodge of stories. It's got real thematic through-lines that should, ideally, carry the reader through. Plus, it includes a brand new story, "Komodo," about sex magic and lizard gods and the importance of staying on good terms with your ex-lovers whenever possible. Also, story notes, because how can I not write story notes? I'm a sucker for story notes.
