Reading: Entertainment Weekly (so sue me. I'm a movie nut)
Music: Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder
TV/Movie: Saturday Night Live Season 1
Link o' the Day: Looking For Group

So today was a bit more lazy than it should have been--and I'll likely pay for it. After doing the groceries and laundry this morning, I pretty much spent the day loafing and snoozing. (The idea is to store up for the coming week. Ha!)

Pretty Maggie and I exchanged Easter baskets today. We both got some tres cool stuff. Because of some recent high cholesterol readings, I didn't get as much candy as I traditionally get, but I still got some of the good stuff. Also got some neat old movies, toys & games, and a great head start on my next banjo.

Then some more loafing while I watched old movies. I didn't really get down to work until around 7:30, and just finishing up the bare minimum I should have gotten done this weekend. This is going to be a hella busy week. Blah.

One thing I worked on today was a full-page display piece featuring this year's Nebula nominees. I was very glad to see Tobias Buckell's book Ragamuffin there. That and his previous book, Crystal Rain have been some of my favorite reads this past year. Unfortunately I've been falling behind in my short fiction reads, so I'm not up to speed on the other Neb nominees. Yet.

I'm not even going to mention the Hugo nom list that just came out at http://www.sfwa.org/news/2008/hugoballot.htm.

I am so behind on my reading.

Well, late night. Short entry. Today's link goes to a webcomic called Looking For Group. I usually avoid long story-arc fantasy comics, but this one is definitely different. In order to appreciate the comic the most, it should be read from the very beginning. It's funny. It's a good story. It's well drawn. Interesting, well-developed characters. There have even been some animations done for it, and talk of a movie-length piece and computer game.

I'm not a World of Warcraft player, but this series is very popular amongst enthusiasts of that game. The major characters bear strong resemblances to various Horde races, but other than that, it's supposedly set in a whole separate sort of world.

Anyway, recommending it here highly.

And Richard is my favorite character. Severed hands down.

Cheers!
