Ouch.

I think I pulled something behind my left shoulder in the midst of yesterday's Operation Clean Office. Still, as scores go, I think it'd be fair to say Me: 3, Office 1--so I'm still on top and have time to recuperate before next weekend's bout. It just means I won't get anything done tonight, and will likely spend the entire evening moving as little as possible. Ibuprofen or something.

Actually, I kind of welcome that. I feel like I've been a whirlwind lately.

Unfortunately I still have to deal with the rest of the workday which, while light, is still annoying. I probably should have stayed home, but there were a couple of things I really needed to make sure were done. Plus I can't really afford days out. We don't get sick pay.

So we soldier on.

Of the projects completed, I the final draft of the Foxo Reardon book went out, as well as the final changes to the 2nd edition of the Guy Williams biography. I set up some reprint files for The Bickersons Scripts Vol. 2, and a book called Private Eyelashes. So pretty productive when you put a 56-page SFWA Bulletin and a 40-page medical journal on top of that.

But everything is out now. Right now I'm working on additional chapters for the Zorro collectibles book--mostly adjusting photos for contrast and size. Tedious work, but necessary.

Entertainment Weekly has a good piece on the upcoming Indiana Jones movie. That's another one of those things, like the Venture Bros season premiere, that I should start an official countdown for. I don't often go to opening night showings, but I may make an exception for this.

An interesting aspect about the IJ film that people often forget is that, because it's a Speilberg flick, it's not being shot digitally, and the special effects are going to be pretty Old School. We're so used to seeing digital effects these days, that I wonder if we're going to perceive the IJ movie differently than other blockbusters.

What do I mean by perceive? Hard to say. Will we be wowwed out of our seats? Spilling popcorn and spitting soda over the masterful special effects and cinematography? Why should we? Movies are so eye-popping these days that it should be hard to surprise us, visually. But because we're so used to digital effects, will seeing non-digital bring back some of the that old "sensawunda"?

I certainly hope so.

But...

Can we forgive Shia LeBoef's character for making Indy ride on the back of the motorcycle? I don't think so. Show some respect--you little punk.
