First, let's get it out of the way--Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!

Case de Teehan will be a place of both cooking and eating. I'm cooking a turkey breast with cranberry stuffing, cornbread stuffing, candied yams, mashed potato, snow peas, and dinner rolls. I've already made two loaves of cranberry bread which came out better than I expected, and a pumpkin pie of which the jury will have to decide upon later. One of my brothers will be joining us today as well.

And this year there is much to be thankful for. Sure, it was a bummer year with my dad passing on and my joining the swelling ranks of the unemployed, but we have our health and we're doing well. Margaret and I celebrated our first anniversary as a married couple. My freelance business is looking better and better every month. I had a number of stories, poems and other bits of writing come out this year. I've made new friends and reconnected with old ones. We get past our hurdles and continue to run strong.

I miss my dad. He's the only thing I'd really wish turned out different this year, but we made the most of the time we had together and for that, I'm forever grateful.

So give thanks, where you can. Be hopeful of the future, and live in the now.

Short entry today. I have a lot of work to do today. I hope everyone has a pleasant and full holiday.

In keeping with the Thanksgiving theme, today's link goes to Thanksgiving Day, 2008, a webpage stocked with trivia, recipes, activities, and other such sundries. Good for a quick browse in between bastings.

Cheers!
