Reading: Rogue Satelite Comics
Music: Todd Rundgren
TV/Movie: Heavy Metal 2000
Link o' the Day: website for Heavy Metal magazine.

Didn't the movie Heavy Metal 2000 once be better than this? I could have sworn I really liked it when it first came out. Now it seems like only the first 20 minutes, and the last twenty minutes are worth watching--and even then it wouldn't have ruined my day to have missed it. Granted, this movie never lived up to the original Heavy Metal movie--or magazine.

I will give shout-outs to Billy Idol for his voice work. He's no Harold Ramis or John Candy, but he did okay.

We're still three months away from the Watchmen movie release. Times is hard.

Project X took some significant steps this weekend. I've determined the schedule for 2009, and the name has been decided upon. I'll be forthcmoming with more details in January. Depending on how quickly things develop over the next couple of weeks, I may use January 11, my birthday, as the official launch date.

2009 should be an interesting year.

Things take longer when everything is coated in ice. Chipping out. Defrosting. Scraping. Getting the windows to work. Sure, the SUV handles great. But it's not magic.

And no love for Xmas it seems--not from Jack Frost. I hear weather reports from all over the country about crap like this. Thousands of flights cancelled. Temperatures remaining well below freezing, with high winds making daytime melt a dicey thing.

Sure make me glad I live here in Galvest---oh wait. No. This is Rhode Island.

Well at least it's not Maine.

And speaking of the holidays...so much stuff to wrap today. So much stuff. And I have to find the Xmas stockings. And I need to make sure I have everything for tomorrow's cooking marathon.

In keeping with the above movie, today's link visits the official website for Heavy Metal magazine. The magazine, like the movie, is but a dim shadow of it's glorious pass, but I'll give the folks credit for trying. Check out the cover gallery to see covers dating back to 1977, and take th time to browse around some of the other sections--particularly the more historical ones.

Enjoy!
