Today was an amazing day. Well, bad day at work, but that's a whole 'nother side of my life.

There's a teacher at work who is also a professional woodworker. We had asked him if he could repair a rocking chair that I owned. It's a family piece, nothing real expensive but sentimental. It needed "shoring up" in joints, etc. He agreed and gave me an estimate on the work.

(side note: he and his wife adopted from Korea last year and are currently finishing paperwork for their second from Korea. I had told him we were wanting the chair repaired in preparation for our little one to be adopted).

So today he stopped by my room to tell me the chair was ready and I could take it home. I went to get my checkbook and confirmed the price with him. He replied, "no charge - consider it a baby gift. Congratulations." and walked away. Isn't the world amazing? When you least expect it, kindness is shown to you.
