We were being lazy. "We won't travel until Spring..." "We don't have to get this paperwork done until November... or December..."

But at the same time, it was weighing on our minds. Of course, we didn't talk about it. We're both masters at procrastination (even when it comes to a child - it's a big step!). We finally talked this past Saturday when it got too much for me.

"Why don't we just get this paperwork done?" I asked. "Let's just throw caution to the wind and when it's done, we send it in, the end. No planning, no timing, let's just do it."

"Okay," replies Doug.

"Really?" as my eyes begin to tear up in a happy way.

"Yeah. I've thought that for awhile now, I just waited for you to come to the same conclusion," laughs Doug.

Silly person! So we sat down tonight and went through all the papers, piece by piece, noting the steps we had to take. I then organized with manila folders, labeling everything, when it expired, who had to fill it out, etc.

So we begin. In earnest. And if we finish papers early, we send it in early, and maybe even get a child early. Who knows? We'll let God and the fates take control now.
