We've returned from a whirlwind three days, in which Roman experienced his first holiday celebrating Jesus' birth. And getting lots of presents. :) We started on Christmas Eve morning visiting Doug's family. We did presents, a nice dinner out, and dessert back home. Kids went to bed, and Doug and I went to 11pm service at a local Congregational church. Only disappointment of the visit to this area is that we didn't have time to see our friends from Denver (from Michigan? from Pittsburgh?), who were in a nearby town.

Awoke Christmas morning, did stockings from Santa and Father Frost, and then after breakfast headed to my parents' house. Saw my extended family for the day, and did our adult presents that evening.

Morning of the 26th we awoke, gave Roman to my dad and went back to bed for another 1-1/2 hours. Then we did Roman's presents from my parents, and then packed up and off to my Dad's family Christmas. Whew! Caught up with my brother and his family there, along with other relatives. Then headed home that night, arriving around 11pm.

Roman was fantastic. Only had one genuine (and brief) temper tantrum at dinner out; melted a little on Sunday when there were lots of people and little room to run. But he played fantastically with all his cousins and was in good disposition for all three days. Amazing.

Today while he was at daycare Doug and I got a bit done. Doug did 5 loads of laundry while I sorted, unpackaged, and placed all our Xmas items (including all of Roman's presents). Roman went to the doctor today for his 18-month checkup and got 3 shots - the rest of his flu shot, plus 2 more vaccinations. He is finally done until age 4. And he's healthy as a horse. Measurements: 33 inches tall and between 28 & 29 pounds. Chunky monkey!
