Working on: Praying Roman sleeps at least an hour for his nap. We're at 40 min. right now.
---------------------------------

The one word that Roman has always held onto from Russia is "da" for "yes." Perhaps because Doug and I used it when we first arrived home - we still do sometimes, an easy habit. I had wondered if he would always say it and figured he'd stop when he hung around other kids. Well, the death of "da" has come sooner than I expected.

He began to say "yeah" every once in awhile about two weeks ago. We've noticed the last week that "yeah" is being used instead of "da" but we still heard it once in awhile. This morning I noticed it - everything he answered was "yeah" instead of "da." It's kind of sad to me - the last vestiges of his culture and link to Russia fading away. Of course in the end I want this to happen, I want him to be an American boy with Russian heritage - but I guess I didn't think it would happen this soon.
