Working on: How do you spell "racoon?" One c or two? Word says two.
---------------------------------

Tonight Roman had us laughing so much, practically tears. It was an example (opposite of Monday's) of why kids are absolutely wonderful. We try to spend time after dinner in the living room with him now, just the three of us unwinding and playing a little. I had cleaned out the second closet in his bedroom (our storeroom) and pulled out two puppets of a set of four we had (the other two we already were playing with). Raccoon and Frog. Well, Roman thought they were terrific. He didn't really play with the previous puppets (Fox & Skunk) except rarely.

So I had Raccoon on my hand and Roman decides he wants it to read. So he brought R. one of his all-time favorite books, "I Know A Rhino." He wanted R. to read through it. After awhile, Roman was reading another book TO R. He would point at a picture and name it, and then look at R. and wait for it to nod in agreement, before moving on to the next picture. This went on for a good 15 minutes - Roman bringing Raccoon a book, showing it pictures, naming the pictures, switching books. Then he wanted Raccoon to play with his other toys. He showed Raccoon his choo-choos, brought him his "sound blocks", and basically was acting like Raccoon was his new friend!

This was the first appearance of a lengthy imagination in Roman, and we were so amazed by it! So adorable.
