It's Like Having A Marathon of A Whole Season of A TV Show

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

In the meeting of my Integrated Computer Circuits lecture class for the second week of the second term, I started the discussion on the second programming language we had to take up for the topics of the term.

For at least one of the students, despite the fact that I told them to have just one notebook for all of the subjects I'm teaching them this term, he vocally expressed his confusion, since the day before we talked about another programming language. It gave me pause myself, thinking should I just continue on what I was discussing before?

But after all, the students do have skipping or alternating topic lessons with other teachers daily and weekly, and teachers have the same with other students, so why should it be less comprehensible when it's one teacher with the same students on different topics within the week?

I did realize though that parallel to this I should also be honing their circuit skills for them to retain their switching theory applications from last term.

I will have to alternate with that, too eventually, or deal with it in a few sessions all at once.

Eventually I will have to deal with a certain student potentially complaining about not knowing enough of a background for the subject he IS enrolled in, when most if not all of his classmates already took it up before in other subjects that would be a waste of time to repeat.

It was also supposed to be a lecture session, but we got to the part in the study of the programming language (since I did relate it to most of the other languages they have learned before, and therefore it was quick going from format to data types to variable declarations to assignment statements, operators, comparison, input and output statements, conditional statements and loops in less than an hour.

I also had to increase the number of groups by one to optimize the use of the computers in the lab, although that meant one of the groups had one more members than any of the others. No one complained.

Session 1325 wants one lesson all week long. Class dismissed.
